Names of personnel will be given to site management on a daily basis. Any
problems contact office.
Work sequences will be carried out in accordance with site management's
requirement. This sequencing should be agreed prior to arrival on site to
enable correct materials to be made available.
Each area of work will be looked at on its own merits and correct access
chosen to allow safe method of work. Although generally our work is carried
out on ladders or access platforms provided by main contractor - safety
harness will be worn if required.
Specified materials will be used and relevant hazard data sheets
provided.
All work will be carried out in accordance with the enclosed COSHH
recommendations.
All empty cartridges and material will be cleared away to skips provided
by main contractor.
All material will be brought to site by our operatives. If materials are
to be stored on site this will be agreed with site management.
Where necessary all protective clothing will be worn by our operatives.
Safety shoes or boots, high visibility jackets and safety helmets will be
worn at all times.
Work in confined spaces where there is risk of noxious gases; extraction
will be discussed with site management.
In the event of first aid not being available on site, First Aid kits are
carried by our operatives. All accidents will be recorded in the site
accident book.
Upon completion of areas of work this will be offered to the main
contractor for inspection.
All personnel will be safety inducted from the Safety Booklet and will
sign to state they have received the instruction.
All personnel will be familiar with the site emergency procedure.
Work is to seal joints and gaps to the external and internal areas of
units as described in Contract.
Work is carried out using manually operated applicator guns, using
disposable cartridges of silicone sealant, for which full COSHH details are
available on request.
Additional risks are encountered when working above ground level. Work is
carried out to 2nd storey using ladders provided by T. Butcher Mastics Ltd.
These ladders are regularly checked for safety and replaced when necessary.
All work above 2nd storey level must be done from access equipment
provided by the Contractor who must ensure that it complies with safety
legislation.
